This letter, written in 1936, from the Virginia Compensation Board was copied to Louisa County’s Treasurer, Mr. Russell C. Crank.  It outlined the expenses allotted to the office, including Crank’s $3,720 salary, at a total of $5,995.  Crank’s salary today, by calculating for inflation, would be $58,390.08 and the total budget would be $94,099.07.
